About the Opportunity

Council is seeking a motivated, customer-focused team player who can help Council to meet its compliance and regulatory obligations in the Ranger and Compliance Officer role.

In this role you will ensure public health and safety, environmental protection, and community compliance with regulations to enhance lifestyle and maintain order and amenity within the Shire.

You will be required to stay informed about relevant laws and regulations, engage with the community to promote compliance and address concerns, work collaboratively with other agencies, maintain accurate records and documentation of investigations and enforcement actions and conduct investigations and enforcement related to illegal dumping, litter, vegetation control, free camping, and street trading.

You are an ideal candidate for this role if you have well-developed observation and monitoring skills, are great with being organised, have good time management skills, strong communication skills, and a commitment to improving the community's lifestyle and safety through effective regulation and enforcement.

 Salary Benefits

  • Remuneration at Grade 5 of Council’s salary system ($1404.29 - $1568.15 per week) depending on qualifications and experience
  • Adverse Working Conditions Allowance currently $18.92 per week
  • 11.5% superannuation
  • 38 hours per week
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 4 weeks’ annual leave
  • Sick, Carers and other leave as per the Local Government (State) Award
  • Council paid continuing professional development
